Clinical Laboratory Technologist I

Position Summary:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist I, you will play a vital role in the healthcare system by conducting essential laboratory tests. You will be responsible for performing routine analyses under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure compliance with quality control measures and maintain accurate records of patient test results.
  • Participate in the training and oversight of moderate complexity testing as required.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
  • Assist in inspections by regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing training and competency assessments.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Must have previously qualified as a Technologist under applicable federal regulations.

Preferred Experience:
One to three years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
The role may involve lifting and carrying objects of varying weights, with frequent standing and walking required. Manual dexterity is essential for operating laboratory instruments and pipettes.

Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of clinical testing processes and laboratory policies. Excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and effective communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems is required.

Education:
Associates Degree in a relevant field is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Certifications:
ASCP Certification is required.
