Job Overview:

Ignis Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for Fire Safety Solutions in Ohio to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of fire suppression systems to ensure the safety and protection of life and property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fire suppression systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, ensuring compliance with local, national, and manufacturer standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure proper system installation and operation according to design specifications.
  • Conduct on-site surveys to ensure accurate system design and successful installation.
  • Review and interpret project specifications provided by customers to implement them effectively.
  • Stay current with industry standards and regulations by attending manufacturer training sessions and other professional development opportunities.
  • Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals to support system functionality.
  • Update and maintain existing drawings for system improvements or modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company and customer safety policies throughout the design and installation process.
  • Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvements and system documentation.
  • Provide support in system inspections, maintenance, startups, and commissioning when necessary.

Salary and Benefits:

Estimated annual salary: $85,000 - $115,000 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and familiarity with 3D design software.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations.
  • Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
  • Self-motivated with a desire for continuous improvement in processes and design methods.
