Building Automation Specialist

Position Summary: This role is dedicated to executing installations, repairs, overhauls, and preventive/predictive maintenance on automated production machinery, facility systems, and building automation technologies. The automated production machinery encompasses CNC mills, lathes, box manufacturing machines, metal surface treatment devices, pick and place systems, and other equipment typically utilized in a surface mount technology (SMT) environment. Facility automation systems include HVAC, CCTV, access control, and lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough checks on machinery operations and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues according to best practices.
- Perform intricate repairs, calibrations, and maintenance on equipment utilizing various tools and methodologies.
- Disassemble devices to replace defective components using hoists, cranes, and hand tools.
- Adjust machinery and control instruments with precision using measuring tools.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC-related issues employing ladder logic and text-based programming.
- Interpret electronic schematics for troubleshooting electronic equipment independently.
- Identify problem sources by engaging with operators and observing equipment performance.
- Modify and reconstruct manufacturing equipment to align with new production requirements.
- Document all maintenance activities meticulously for future reference using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain an organized workspace and manage spare parts inventory effectively.
Qualifications:
- Proficient understanding of automation systems, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic processes.
- Experience with automated SMT equipment is highly advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical domains.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels.
Performance Metrics:
- Timely completion of troubleshooting and repairs.
- Up-to-date preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Proper execution of projects within designated timelines.
- Maintained cleanliness and operational efficiency of all equipment.
