About the Role:

This is a fast-paced position that requires standing for extended periods, with occasional driving required. You must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. A board-certified Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP, ARNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in your working state is essential, along with an active DEA license. 1-2 years of wound care and/or surgical experience are highly preferred but not required; extensive training is available.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams
  • Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls in an assigned region
  • Provide high-quality skin and wound care services to patients
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess changes to patients' healthcare needs
  • Perform bedside wound care skills, including wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
  • Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR
  • Develop treatment plans for skin and wound conditions based on individual patient needs and UWH Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Collaborate virtually with medical leadership, including board-certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease
