The LPN plays a vital role in assisting physicians in providing medical services, including direct patient care, medical record documentation, and follow-up care focused on men's health at Arkansas Urology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet, screen, and prepare patients for physician examinations.
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physicians.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction by providing thorough and compassionate consultation and education on diagnosis and recommended treatments and lifestyle modifications.
  • Operate within the standards of care and scope of practice as defined by state statutes.
  • Provide advice, leadership, and guidance to other clinical medical staff.
  • Accurately document patient visits in the electronic medical record system and/or according to established clinic guidelines.
  • Protect patient confidentiality by maintaining the confidentiality of personal medical information.
  • Respond to patient telephone inquiries, provide medical advice, and escalate to medical providers when necessary.
Requirements:
  • A current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Arkansas.
  • A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR).
  • At least 2 years of experience providing care in a clinical environment, preferably with an emphasis on men's health.
  • Knowledge of current recognized standards of care within the scope of licensure.
  • A commitment to providing state-of-the-art, innovative, and advanced medical care and exceptional customer service to patients and internal customers.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and intermediate knowledge of medical terminology and techniques.
  • Intermediate knowledge of medications, side effects, and adverse effects.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of proper technique and use of medical devices.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to interact with patients, medical professionals, and clinic staff.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to drive the Epoch Men's Health culture.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with patients and providers.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance workload to service patients and meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and willingness to do whatever it takes to make the patient experience as beneficial and pleasant as possible.
  • Knowledge and understanding of appropriate safety precautions necessary to safely perform all patient care.
Computer Skills:
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a typing speed of 45-50 WPM.
  • Working knowledge of medical software/systems, preferably including Athena.
Physical Demands:
  • Semi-repetitive work requiring periods of concentration for varied time cycles as prescribed by tasks.
  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to stand, walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, with controlled temperature and a low noise level.
