Position Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Endocrinology Clinic plays a crucial role in delivering essential medical care and personal support to patients within a clinical environment. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient well-being and ensuring high-quality care.

  • Location: Endocrinology Clinic
  • Hours: 64 Hours/2 Weeks
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift, No Weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist patients for examinations and medical procedures.
  • Gather and document patient information accurately in medical records.
  • Support healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and testing.
  • Review and clarify physician's orders and lab requests with patients.
  • Record services rendered in the patient's medical documentation.
  • Administer treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Monitor patients and report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the supervising RN.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established policies and licensure regulations.
  • Reinforce patient education provided by healthcare providers and RNs.
  • Offer basic healthcare guidance to patients and their families.
  • Conduct EKGs and perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Collect blood samples through venipuncture.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory and order necessary medical supplies.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited LPN program, with prior experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Licensure and Certification:

Candidates must hold a valid LPN license in the applicable state. CPR or BLS certification is required within a specified timeframe, along with additional training as per departmental guidelines.

Physical Demands:

This role involves essential physical activities, including manual dexterity for operating medical equipment, lifting and assisting patients, and performing various movements such as standing, walking, and reaching. Vision requirements include the ability to see close and at a distance, with occasional need for depth perception.
