Admissions Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Admissions Specialist to join our team at Highland-Clarksburg Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth admission process.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical screening and assessment for potential and admitted patients
- Offer information and referral services to internal and external customers
- Interview incoming patients or representatives and enter data into our electronic medical records system
- Present clinical information to a member of the medical staff for approval or denial of admissions
- Explain hospital regulations, patient rights, and admissions documentation to patients or representatives
- Record and collect necessary personal information and secure required signatures
- Verify patient information, including custody arrangements, health insurance, and demographic data
- Verify insurance benefits and payment information, and collect co-pays as necessary
- Perform duties and record information concisely, accurately, and completely
- Identify and utilize appropriate channels of communication
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Ensure adequate continuing education credits to maintain licensure, if required
- Provide patient and family education as needed
- Attend and complete staff development activities as required
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Stay up-to-date on Admission and HCHI policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a mental health or behavioral health field, such as psychology, social work, or criminal justice. Previous experience in a mental health facility is preferred. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
