Nurse Care Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, serving as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs and provide age and culturally appropriate care while carrying out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, monitor vital signs, and instruct and educate patients and families.
- Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions using the Meditech computerized documentation system.
- Participate in discharge planning needs and support new staff through mentoring and orientation.
Requirements:
- Current Indiana RN licensure or active Compact State RN license.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing, Associates Degree required.
- Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
- ACLS, and NIHSS certification obtained within 6 months of hire date. Certifications to be maintained throughout employment.
- TCAT course completion within a year of employment.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, crucial discernment, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent collaboration between all staff/units and shifts.
