As a Medical Assistant at American Family Care, you will provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. Under the direction of a licensed provider, you will work directly with a franchised business location to deliver exceptional medical care.
Responsibilities- Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved procedures.
- Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
- Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
- Respond to all lab messages and call back requests.
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with approved procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- AMT-registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are required.
- Two years of experience is preferred.
