Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to teach Health Science Technology at McAllen Independent School District. We are seeking a qualified educator to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of health science concepts and principles.

Responsibilities
  1. Classroom Instruction: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and understanding of health science technology.
  2. Student Support: Provide individualized support to students to ensure they meet their academic goals and succeed in the classroom.
  3. Professional Development: Stay current with developments in health science technology by attending workshops, conferences, and participating in professional organizations.
  4. Collaboration: Work with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, and to improve student outcomes.
  5. Assessment: Assess student learning and progress, and make data-driven decisions to inform instruction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Board Industry License in Health Science Technology or Human Services field.
  • Texas Teaching Certificate in Health Science, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned.
  • State board approved license in field.
  • At least two (2) years of industry experience in Health Science or Mental Health Field.
  • At least one (1) year of student teaching or approved internship.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of 197 days. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

Equipment Used

The successful candidate will have access to a range of educational technology and resources, including computers, copiers, and multimedia equipment.

Language

This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues who speak a variety of languages.
