First Ascent Climbing & Fitness is a dynamic and growing company that is passionate about providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for climbers and fitness enthusiasts. We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Hospitality Staff member.

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to provide exceptional customer service and support to our members and visitors. As a Hospitality Staff member, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facility is clean, organized, and welcoming to all guests. You will also be responsible for providing information and assistance to members and visitors, as well as supporting our climbing and fitness programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and visitors
  • Greet members and visitors upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in process
  • Guide new visitors to the waiver station and ensure that waivers are completed correctly
  • Organize groups and parties and direct them to the appropriate meeting area
  • Answer member and visitor questions and direct them to the appropriate staff member
  • Proactively address visitor concerns and complaints
  • Oversee the retail area and assist customers with purchases
  • Run the point of sale system and maintain accurate records
  • Lead facility orientations and administer belay checks
  • Explain climbing modalities and ensure proper technique
  • Complete incident reports as necessary
  • Maintain high standards for new climbers and retain documentation
  • Communicate and enforce facility and climbing wall policies
  • Pitch in with other tasks to maintain a clean and organized facility

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in the fitness or recreation industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible working style and ability to multitask
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and love of climbing and fitness

Work Environment

Our facility is a climate-controlled indoor environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Employees must be able to concentrate through distractions and communicate effectively.
