Job Description

Job Summary:

Belt Power LLC is a leading full-service distributor and fabricator specializing in the fulfillment of conveyor system requirements for the processing, manufacturing, and material handling industry. We place an emphasis on providing quality, value-added components; as well as local service capabilities to support our customers' needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and install conveyor belts and related products either in-house or at a customer site.
  • Build and repair belts and conveyor belt components.
  • Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting.
  • Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area, follows sales orders.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
  • Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting.
  • Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
  • Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Represent Belt Power in a professional manner.
  • Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
  • Basic math skills and computer skills.
  • Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as ability to work at heights and tight spaces.
  • Overtime hours and weekend work may be required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

Work Environment:

The work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well-lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.

Physical Demands:

The Belt Technician may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional weekend work.

Pay Range: $20.00 an hour
