Based on Calhoun County Teachers and Supplemental Salary Schedule, commensurate with degree level and experience.

Job Overview:
The role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students with special needs. Key duties include:
  • Implementing comprehensive educational programs in both physical and virtual classrooms.
  • Creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes student participation.
  • Utilizing effective instructional management systems to boost student learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress towards educational objectives.
  • Engaging with the educational community to foster collaboration.
  • Upholding professional responsibilities and adhering to technology standards.
  • Possessing in-depth knowledge of assessment strategies and lesson planning.
  • Understanding the needs of diverse learner populations.
  • Exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Co-teaching and providing intervention support for both special and general education students.
  • Ensuring compliance with all IEP requirements and student accommodations.
  • Providing remediation for students in areas where they struggle.
  • Assisting in the collection and analysis of student data.
  • Participating in IEP meetings and evaluations.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to support all students.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and IEP goals.
  • Working with school administrators on matters related to special education.
  • Monitoring compliance with special education evaluation timelines.
  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations for special education eligibility.
  • Preparing detailed evaluation reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Presenting evaluation results at eligibility committee meetings.
  • Coordinating ELL services and activities for English Language Learners.
  • Facilitating parent training sessions.
Performance Criteria for Teachers:
Adherence to state board policies and educational standards is expected.
