Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist at the American Red Cross, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of blood testing results. Your expertise will be essential in resolving compatibility problems and providing intermediate reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic and guided advanced donor and patient tests and interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility.
  • Resolve compatibility problems and provide intermediate reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.
  • Perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples and adhere to explicit standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Requirements:

  • MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification or equivalent, bachelor's degree with major in biological science or chemistry, and 3 years of blood banking experience.
  • MLT(ASCP) certification and 5 years of laboratory experience.
