JOB OVERVIEW

The Sound Production Specialist acts as the chief audio technician for all live events, worship gatherings, broadcast sessions, and post-production activities. This role encompasses all aspects of audio production and the overall sound experience at BRAVE Church. The individual in this position will supervise, guide, and mentor a team of audio personnel and volunteers for all live and broadcast functions. This role demands a qualified candidate with strong leadership, organizational skills, team-building abilities, problem-solving aptitude, self-motivation, and collaborative spirit.

REPORTS TO: Director of Production

STATUS: Full-Time TYPE: Employee/Salary SUPERVISORY ROLE: No

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the principal audio technician for live events, broadcasts, and various locations
  • Acquire, install, manage, and maintain all audio apparatus and systems
  • Lead, instruct, and develop staff and volunteers in all facets of audio production
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mix audio for post-production (videos, click-to-video, tracks, rebroadcast, etc.)
  • Mix audio for special occasions (conferences, events, training sessions, memorials, etc.)
  • Assist in the creative planning, design, and execution of significant events
  • Support the design, installation, and implementation of system integration projects
  • Set up and dismantle audio equipment, cables, patches, conduct line checks, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and ensure the proper functioning of all equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot and/or repair audio-related devices as issues arise
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated skill, knowledge, and experience in live, broadcast, and post-production audio
  • Proven ability to operate various analog and digital mixing consoles and manage audio in diverse venues
  • Proven capability to mix and manage multiple channels of live and broadcast audio while making appropriate adjustments to musicality, tonality, and dynamics
  • Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, correct, and adjust frequency and harmonic issues promptly for live and broadcast events
  • Experience and knowledge of live analog and digital consoles, Audinate Dante Audio networking products, Waves Soundgrid, ProTools, and digital audio workstations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A dedicated individual who is passionate about promoting the gospel and committed to the mission of BRAVE Church (kingdom-minded)
  • Formal training or technical degree with certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4+ years in worship and spoken word) preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with technical equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience in various live production environments and venues
  • Willingness to work an irregular schedule, including evenings and weekends, and provide on-call support and assistance outside of standard hours.
  • Committed to excellence, detail-oriented, and capable of executing complex tasks with precision (excellence in all endeavors)
  • Able to prioritize tasks to align with the vision and mission of BRAVE Church
