Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: Conducts thorough and holistic evaluations of patients' physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial conditions, taking into account their lifestyle preferences and educational needs.
  • Planning: Works in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare teams to create individualized care plans aimed at enhancing health and wellness.
  • Intervention: Delivers proficient and innovative patient care and education tailored to the complexity and acuity of the patient's condition, fostering a culture of safety and compassion.
  • Documentation: Accurately records nursing assessments, care planning, interventions, and patient/family responses.
  • Evaluation: Assesses patient progress towards established goals and adjusts care plans collaboratively with patients and families as necessary.
  • Delegation and Supervision: Oversees and evaluates the performance of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP), ensuring adherence to scope of practice, training, competence, and relevant policies.
  • Leadership: Influences and guides others through participation in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, research, and departmental projects.
  • Professional Responsibilities: Accepts accountability for actions, seeks feedback, addresses concerns, and works towards conflict resolution.

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory: Associate degree in Nursing

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Experience:

Mandatory: No prior experience required

Preferred: At least 6 months of nursing experience

Licensure and Certifications:

Mandatory: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; additional state RN licenses may be required. Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from recognized organizations.

Patient Population:

Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

OSHA Category:

Category I - Employees in this role may have a reasonable risk of exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.

Environmental Conditions:
