Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health.

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sonographic principles and be able to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography
  • Ability to use independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and caregivers using excellent interpersonal and communication skills
