Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Travel ICU RN to join our team at CHI Health Good Samaritan. As a critical care travel nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in our intensive care unit, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including those with cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care, communicate patient status, and make decisions about patient care.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient response to therapy.
  • Perform various medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines, administering medications, and performing cardiac rhythm interpretations.
  • Document patient care and progress in the medical record, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU or critical care.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or Iowa.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to float to other units as needed, including PCU and MedSurg.
Work Environment
  • CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 33-bed ICU unit, with an average daily census of 16 patients.
  • The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including telemetry monitoring and ventilators.
  • The healthcare team is comprised of experienced nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
