Pipe Layer

At Tucker Paving, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, fire, water mains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and connect pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, fire, water mains.
• Ensure ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes.
• Align pipes and seal joints together with cement or gasket joint materials.
• Install or repair sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems.
• Operate equipment, such as rollers, loaders, excavators, plate compactors and jumping jacks.
• Grade or level trench vases, using tamping machines or hand tools.
• Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
• Tap and frill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
• Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum 1-year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
• Ability to interpret blueprints/plans and construct accordingly.
• Valid Driver license.
• OSHA 30 preferred (but not required).
