Bus Attendant

Marana Unified School District is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Bus Attendant. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.

The Bus Attendant will assist passengers entering and exiting school buses, help passengers with special needs, and maintain the cleanliness of the bus. This is a 9-month position, working 35 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of $16.19.

• Assist passengers entering and exiting school buses, including helping passengers navigate bus stairs.
• Assist passengers with special needs, including fastening harnesses, seat belts, tie-downs, and car seats as needed.
• Operate various types of mechanical lift mechanisms for loading and unloading wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bus.
• Ensure students are delivered to the proper drop-off points and are met by designated parents or guardians if required.
• Demonstrate and explain emergency evacuation procedures to passengers.
• Communicate with dispatchers and other staff members as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess or be able to obtain CPR and 1st Aid Certification.
• Must be able to pass a physical agility test based on DPS Minimum Standards for School Bus Drivers.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.

This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures, with exposure to traffic and noise. The ideal candidate will be able to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents, and community members.
