Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team at Pro Mach. As an Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling and building complex conveyor systems for the material handling industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering prints, specifications, and verbal or written instructions to assemble conveyor systems in a timely manner.
- Assemble complex mechanical conveyor units, requiring a basic degree of problem-solving and extreme care, semi-skilled workmanship, and accuracy to meet strict inspection, testing, and operating specifications.
- Perform conveyor sub-assembly or basic wiring as guided by the Assembly Foreman/Supervisor.
- Train and assist in other departments as production needs require, including Roller shaft assembly, Pre-assembly, Fabrication, Plastic Molding, Electrical, and Shipping/Crating departments.
- Take on a support role in the Quality Checkout Process and adhere to all Shuttleworth Quality and Assembly standards.
- Other tasks as directed by Assembly Foreman or Manufacturing Manager.
- 10% travel as needed for installation/service calls with trained personnel.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Technical training or one-year related experience; or sufficient ability to demonstrate technical ability and inclination.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Supply basic hand tools, including ratchet and metric sockets, metric wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc. All specialty and power tools will be supplied by Shuttleworth.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Reliable attendance, and a vigor to execute the specified task to the best of ability meeting required deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and work over head.
- Ability to regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
