About Us:

Ambience is pushing the boundaries of AI innovation in healthcare and medicine. With healthcare costs skyrocketing to 17.3% of US GDP and an impending physician shortage of 100,000, the necessity for AI is undeniable.

Our mission revolves around equipping every healthcare worker with an AI co-pilot, aiming to improve patient care while reducing costs. By harmoniously combining human capabilities and AI, we aspire to deliver unparalleled healthcare services at a lower price point.

Based in San Francisco, we've attracted substantial investment from prominent backers, including Kleiner Perkins, OpenAI Startup Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, Optum Ventures, Human Capital, and Martin Ventures. We engage closely with renowned AI experts, such as Jeff Dean, Richard Socher, Pieter Abbeel, and AIX Ventures.

The Role:

You will be instrumental in crafting the foundational infrastructure of our platform, catering to the needs of healthcare providers who rely on it daily. As part of OpenAI's portfolio, you'll benefit from exposure to the latest AI breakthroughs.

Within the first 6 months, you'll focus on establishing the groundwork for long-term success, emphasizing platform observability, reliability, and scalability. As a seasoned technical leader, you'll drive the full lifecycle of significant initiatives in our AI stack—from conceptualization to deployment.

Your Key Tasks:

  • Conceptualize and implement critical product features that harness AI advancements for a streamlined user experience.
  • Anticipate and address potential system bottlenecks before they negatively impact our customers.
  • Guide strategic initiatives focused on accelerating project velocity while maintaining high-quality code standards.
  • Promote and enforce best practices for coding excellence, contributing to the development of robust processes.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of tackling complex challenges across multiple teams.
  • Strong familiarity with contemporary infrastructure stacks, encompassing cloud providers (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker), queuing systems (SQS, Kafka), and standard database management (Postgres).
  • Capacity to execute initiatives from inception to successful implementation.
  • Flexibility to adapt across the tech stack to guarantee project completion.
  • Predisposition to teamwork and collaboration, valuing open communication and mutual support among colleagues.
  • Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Aptitude to thrive in dynamic environments marked by complexity and uncertainty.

Salary: $170,000 - $250,000, accompanied by substantial equity compensation.
