New Construction Project Manager Job Summary

Core Group Resources Careers is seeking a highly experienced New Construction Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of new vessel construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of new vessel construction projects, from initial design and planning through to delivery and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with company objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate with shipyards, naval architects, and engineering teams to oversee the design, construction, and outfitting of new vessels.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, classification society requirements, and company standards throughout the construction process.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and accomplishments.
  • Oversee the commissioning and sea trials of new vessels, ensuring that all systems and equipment meet specified requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • 8+ years of combined maritime project management, design, engineering, and/or new vessel construction experience.
  • Demonstrated history of developing green energy solutions, such as LNG, ammonia, or other similar technologies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend contracts.
  • Financial acumen to develop budget, develop long-term plans, and contribute to financial models.
  • Experience working with ABS and USCG to effectively overcome complex regulatory challenges.
