Job Summary

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a student intern to join their GIS Section in the Traffic & Safety Bureau. As a GIS Analyst, you will work with the entire Traffic & Safety team to perform a variety of GIS tasks involved with the development, maintenance, and implementation of geospatial assets.

Key Responsibilities

* Utilize desktop and online resources to create and edit data assets.
* Create and customize digital and hardcopy maps.
* Work with end users to collect needs, document, and implement solutions to meet user needs.
* Document data resources and provide end-user training.
* Identify and implement automation solutions to improve office efficiency.

Requirements

* Interest in working with ESRI and Microsoft products.
* Interest in geospatial and database technologies.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
