Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Alumni/Family Engagement to join our team at Dean College. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in advancing the college's strategic goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive institutional advancement strategy that aligns with the college's mission and goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders to secure funding and support for the college.
  • Lead a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the president and other senior leaders to develop and implement a strategic plan for fundraising and alumni engagement.
  • Work with Career Services to develop programs and initiatives that promote alumni and family engagement and provide career development opportunities for students.
  • Develop and manage a budget and staffing plan for the Office of Institutional Advancement.
  • Conduct and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and tactics.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan to recognize and thank donors for their support.
  • Travel and represent the college at various events and functions to build relationships and secure funding.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven success directing a successful alumni and family giving division at a reputable institution.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in successful annual giving operations, with at least seven years of success in at least one organization.
  • Record of performing well in several of the various positions in said operation and must also have a record of being promoted from within.
  • Proven leader, excellent communicator, thoughtful mentor, and inspiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with database management and analysis.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Ability to travel and represent the college at various events and functions.
