Qualifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) in Washington State is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in Endoscopy Technician roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation for Procedures: Ensure all endoscopy instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use. Assist in setting up the endoscopy suite and ensure patient comfort.
  • Equipment Management: Operate and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment, ensuring optimal functionality during procedures.
  • Assistance to Healthcare Providers: Support gastroenterologists and surgeons during procedures by providing necessary instruments and responding to their needs promptly.
  • Patient Monitoring: Keep track of patients' vital signs and overall condition, providing reassurance and addressing any concerns during procedures.
  • Specimen Management: Assist in the collection and labeling of specimens, ensuring proper identification for laboratory analysis.
  • Infection Control: Follow strict protocols to minimize infection risks, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and procedure areas.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient responses, and any complications that may arise.
  • Quality Assurance: Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to best practices in endoscopy services.
  • Patient Education: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients, ensuring they understand the process and care requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about advancements in endoscopy technology and practices through ongoing education.
