Dietary Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department. This includes assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and serving meals, using various dietary utensils and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
- Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
- Support the cook in food preparation and service.
- Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
- Load food carts and assist with serving meals.
- Set up the dining room and help serve patients.
- Receive and store food supplies.
- Participate in departmental and in-service educational programs.
- Adhere to defined safety codes and sanitation guidelines.
- Uphold the organization's ethics and customer service standards.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- One year of experience as a dietary aide or in a related field.
- Prior experience in healthcare food service is required.
- A valid Serve Safe Certification is preferred.
- CPI obtained within 60 days of hire.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Sound leadership skills.
- Knowledge of state and local code requirements for food service establishments.
- Ability to prepare food combinations that add interest, contrast, and variety to a menu.
- Knowledge of safe food-handling techniques.
We offer a competitive salary range of $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
