Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical-Surgical Nurse to join our team at Greenlife Healthcare Staffing. As a Medical-Surgical Nurse, you will provide holistic care to patients requiring acute medical or surgical interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and care for patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses and treatment modalities.
- Care for patients requiring special precautions such as isolation.
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines.
- Maintain central lines for administration of intravenous fluid.
- Provide emergency care as indicated.
- Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenously) and blood products.
- Verify physician orders.
- Complete and accurate documentation of care according to facility/unit policies.
- Perform phlebotomy and bedside testing.
- Provide psychological support to patients as indicated.
- Care for complex wounds.
- May be required to work with COVID-19-positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years current experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit in an urban, academic Medical Center setting.
- Unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or in a related field or a master's degree in Nursing or in a related field is highly preferred.
