Job Summary

Tyler Junior College is seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team. As a Professor of Paramedic-RN Cohort, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering Associate Degree Nursing coursework in an engaging and innovative manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach courses in the field of nursing to a diverse and multicultural student population.
  • Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review/evaluation, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Supervise students in the clinical setting and establish competence before allowing them to perform nursing procedures without direct faculty member supervision.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of standards/policies for admission, progression, probation, and dismissal of students.
  • Serve as a mentor to students in the Nursing program and as a Team Leader during assigned periods.
  • Remain current in the field through professional development activities and support department goals through active engagement in decision-making and planning.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Three years of recent, varied nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Computer literacy and willingness to utilize latest multi-media technologies.
