About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team at Wilson Medical Center. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Oncology Service Line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information.
  • Coordinate total nursing care for patients, participate in patient and family teaching, and act as a patient/family advocate.
  • Work collaboratively with other nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform various tasks, including reviewing patient charts, obtaining vital signs, and setting up equipment for examinations.
  • Provide emotional support to patients undergoing specific procedures/examinations.
  • Participate in department Clinical Quality Measures and other defined quality processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current/Active North Carolina RN license
  • Additional certifications as required by the department
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs
  • Critical thinking and ability to work well under pressure
