The CNC Programmer will meticulously analyze customer blueprints and CAD models, crafting and optimizing CNC programs to enhance the manufacturing workflow on advanced 5 Axis Milling Machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly reviews customer specifications, engineering plans, and CAD models.
- Collaborates with the estimating team to perform cost analysis related to programming and machining setup.
- Efficiently develops project programs utilizing GibbsCam or MasterCam, adhering to project timelines.
- Selects appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery preparation.
- Ensures precision and compliance with quality assurance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assesses manufacturing processes for both short and long-run orders, managing job routing and inspections.
- Innovates and refines manufacturing methods through creative problem-solving.
- Enhances operational efficiency by analyzing workflows and optimizing machine usage.
- Documents and communicates necessary actions to maintain consistency across shifts, addressing any quality concerns.
- Fosters a collaborative work environment through effective communication with team members.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- In-depth understanding of 3, 4 & 5 Axis machining techniques and tolerances.
- Advanced skills in programming with GibbsCam, MasterCam, and VeriCut.
- Strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
- Experience in machining various materials including Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Inconel, and Tool Steel.
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years of programming experience in CNC machining for the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of machining diverse materials.
Mental Demands:
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining respect for colleagues.
- Accountability for personal actions and commitment to follow through.
- Capability to adapt to frequent changes or delays.
Possesses independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
