Physician - Cornea and External Disease Specialist

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmologist to join our team as a Faculty Physician in Cornea and Refractive Surgery.

This is a full-time, board-certified position with a focus on providing critical ophthalmological care and clinical services to patients suffering from various eye diseases, infections, trauma, and other eye complications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing outpatient and inpatient consultations
  • Conducting eye examinations
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Conducting clinical and translational research activities and quality improvement projects
  • Performing eye surgeries, specialized eye treatments, and eye therapies
  • Completing related administrative duties

Qualifications include:

  • M.D. degree or foreign equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited ACGME Ophthalmology residency and a one-year Cornea and External Disease and Refractive Surgery fellowship
  • Board eligible/certified with American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure
  • Ability to maintain DEA certification in Minnesota
  • Ability to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges
