In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing daily operations, driving efficiency, and contributing to innovative design processes. The SMT Engineer will play a crucial role in the implementation, support, and strategic direction for the reengineering and optimization of manufacturing processes, equipment technology, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze design documentation, materials, and manufacturability of designs.
- Conduct pre and post-manufacturing reviews to resolve process challenges.
- Strive for zero defects through continuous process improvements.
- Enhance Surface Mount Technology (SMT) related workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, process capability, and reliability.
- Oversee the SMT process and implement necessary controls in collaboration with production and quality assurance teams.
- Utilize statistical process control and provide hands-on support for SMT manufacturing processes.
- Design stencils for intricate circuit boards.
- Program in Pick and Place, AOI, and SPI systems.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Proven machine operation experience is essential.
- Extensive process engineering background in the SMT printed circuit board industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials Science, Mechanical).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the design, execution, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Prior experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on high-reliability SMT.
- Comprehensive understanding of validation principles, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and engineering design fundamentals.
- Technical proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, electrical/engineering drawings, and electrical and automation programming.
