Behavioral Health Therapist Position at Sentara

About the Role
The Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist provides individual, group, and/or family therapy; provides staff consultation/supervision, and education. This role is responsible for the provision of social work/counseling services to patients receiving care in the inpatient and outpatient behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses the social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial situation, as well as disposition needs, for each assigned patient.
- Collaborates with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community agencies to develop and implement plans to address identified needs.
- Evaluates effectiveness of plans and initiates change as needed.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatric Nurse Specialist or related field.
- Preference for certification in Addiction, Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) etc.
- Currently licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Certification, or willingness to achieve certification, from their respective board to perform supervision of Masters level clinicians.
- Current HS AED Certification
- De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
