About the Role

Cottonwood Healthcare is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation services team, you will play a vital role in optimizing the functionality and skills of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the screening of residents to identify those who may benefit from therapy services.
  • Provide input for initial evaluation and treatment of residents under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Comply with industry standards and regulations regarding accurate and timely billing in each resident's medical record.
  • Maintain completeness of each assigned resident's medical record by completing all assigned progress notes and other documentation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain professional and positive working relationships with residents, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for our residents.
  • Remain up-to-date with relevant payment models, treatment guidelines, and clinically appropriate means of delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or as directed by supervisor(s).
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of physical therapy and a valid physical therapy assistant state license in good standing.
  • Previous therapy experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, including electronic health record programs.
  • Flexibility and availability to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and operate equipment associated with the standard work and essential functions of a physical therapy assistant.
