Role Summary
As an Early Head Start Teacher Aide, you will collaborate with educators to support the management of Early Head Start classrooms, ensuring high-quality care for infants and toddlers in alignment with the agency's philosophy, performance standards, and curriculum guidelines. You will be supervised by an Early Head Start Enrollment Specialist and a Supervising Teacher while working on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize daily routines and observations to address the strengths and needs of children.
- Collaborate with team members to implement the program's curriculum, procedures, and philosophy.
- Foster a safe environment and a positive emotional atmosphere that supports individual children's feelings through supportive interactions.
- Encourage and facilitate ongoing parent participation and involvement by maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Engage in staff training as per the program's training plan and policies.
- Promptly report any suspected injuries to classroom staff.
- Interact positively with children and provide them with choices throughout the day.
- Assist in maintaining classroom cleanliness and adhere to universal precautions.
- Support children in safely exiting the center during fire drills and other emergencies.
- Comply with agency and program standards regarding confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred experience and knowledge in working with infants and toddlers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds or more.
- Availability between 7 AM and 5 PM.
