**Job Title:** Grain Operations Specialist

About the Role:

Dakota Mill and Grain, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Grain Operations Specialist to join our team at the Rapid City Elevator. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in the daily handling of grains and commodities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Sample and analyze grains to ensure quality standards are met and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the elevator facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and report any equipment malfunctions for timely repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and vendors to achieve operational goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assist with other tasks in and around the elevator, warehouse, and yard.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
  • Prior experience in a grain elevator or agricultural setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working at heights in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate grain handling equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending programs for healthcare and dependent care, Aflac supplemental insurance products, SIMPLE IRA Retirement plan with company match, College Savings Program, and generous Paid time off and holidays.
