Job Title: Banquet Server

We are seeking a skilled and professional Banquet Server to join our team at the Showboat Hotel & Island Waterpark.

About This Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional service to guests attending various events. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for setting up banquet rooms, serving food and beverages, clearing tables, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Preparation:
    • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary equipment according to event specifications.
    • Ensure the banquet area is clean, organized, and properly set up before guests arrive.
    • Assist with the preparation of food and beverages as needed.
  • Service:
    • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
    • Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary needs and preferences are accommodated.
    • Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, adhering to service standards.
    • Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs, providing refills and clearing plates promptly.
    • Address any guest concerns or special requests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Teamwork:
    • Collaborate with other banquet servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service and prioritize tasks.
    • Assist with cleanup and breakdown of banquet rooms at the conclusion of events.
  • Compliance:
    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
    • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, including adherence to uniform standards.
    • Follow alcohol service policies and procedures, ensuring responsible beverage service.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a banquet or catering environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry heavy trays of food and beverages.
  • Bend, stoop, and reach overhead to perform various tasks.
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $30,000-$40,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
