Position Overview


As a Radiology Technologist, you will deliver exceptional patient care while executing diagnostic imaging and related procedures. Your role is crucial in demonstrating anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention, all while upholding radiation safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic imaging and related procedures to accurately demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exhibit professional judgment in service delivery, maintaining a demeanor that complements high-quality care.
  • Provide appropriate care by recognizing patient conditions and ensuring the successful completion of procedures.
  • Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations for each imaging modality.
  • Align with Orlando Health's mission statements and strategic goals.
  • Evaluate the patient's physical condition and specific needs based on age.
  • Deliver clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired outcomes.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, gather clinical history, and accurately document all relevant information.
  • Position patients and equipment effectively, adjusting technical factors to obtain high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Review diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is visible.
  • Implement radiation safety principles to minimize exposure for patients, yourself, and others.
  • Understand and comply with Quality Control standards, participating in all related tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering contrast medications.
  • Provide medical assistance in cases of adverse reactions to contrast agents or other emergencies.
  • Utilize appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Assist in supervising student technologists and training new staff members.
  • Effectively use all Corporate Radiology computer systems.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and relevant regulations.
  • Comply with all Orlando Health policies, departmental guidelines, and educational requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized.
  • Ensure work areas are well-stocked and orderly.
  • Facilitate patient transport as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Training
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Licensure/Certification
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure from the State of Florida.
  • Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience
No prior experience required.
