Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Candler County Hospital. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to administer physical therapy treatments to patients, providing essential support and care to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities- Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments to patients.
- Instruct and motivate patients to learn and improve functional activities such as preambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
- Observe patients during treatments and compile and evaluate data on patients' responses to treatments and progress.
- Fit patients for, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
- Confer with physical therapy staff and other healthcare team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
- Perform clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering the phone, and filling out forms.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Active and current Physical Therapist Assistant License that allows you to practice in the state in which you work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate patients about their condition, treatments, and to communicate with patients' families.
- Compassion and a desire to help patients.
The work environment at Candler County Hospital is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work in a team environment with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
The work environment is moderately noisy, with moving mechanical parts and occasional vibration. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
