Special Education Instructor

Focused Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Instructor to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs.
About the PositionThis position involves teaching special education students in a self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing learning activities and experiences designed to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials tailored to student ability levels.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process.
- Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for assigned students and maintain accurate records of progress.
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula as needed and assist special education students in regular classes with assignments.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with SpEd EC-12 and required content endorsements for assignments.
- Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area, Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process, and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal-setting process and implementation.
- Ability to use computers, Chromebooks, printers, Google Suite products including Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Zoom.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- At least one-year student teaching or approved internship experience.
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
