We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiology team at UNC Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to patients in the UNC Health setting or the Nash Cardiology clinic.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Cardiology doctor and/or designated backup physicians.
- Perform a complete evaluation on new patients and consults, including focused history and chief complaint for follow-up patient visits.
- Formulate new and modify current health management plans, and evaluate and reevaluate patients' conditions.
- Prescribe medications and educate and counsel patients.
- Maintain medical records and coordinate care.
- Make patient referrals as needed and manage patient care requirements.
- Function as a float team member when needed and complete discharge paperwork.
- Work with other Heart Center providers and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple patient care needs.
- Supervise patients for Pharmacological and Treadmill Stress Tests, and complete and manage EHR documentation.
- Keep continuing education, licenses, and/or certifications current and comply with policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an approved nursing program for an NP, or Master's in nursing with completion of a post-graduate certificate Nurse Practitioner program or Master's of Nurse Practitioner program or Post-Masters Nurse Practitioner Program.
- 4 years of experience in Healthcare/Medical-Healthcare-Other as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, and National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current certification to practice as a Physician Assistant, and BCLS and ACLS recertification required every 2 years.
