Position Purpose

The Fabricator / Frog Fitter will play a crucial role in the assembly and fabrication of specialized railway components. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and execute tasks based on technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Utilize various tools including grinders, welders, and power equipment effectively.
  • Perform grinding, welding, fitting, and assembly of steel, iron, and manganese materials as per specifications.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and jib cranes.
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with specified tolerances.
  • Assemble components efficiently and in accordance with production schedules.
  • Work autonomously while following established safety and quality protocols.
  • Complete additional tasks as required by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to perform detailed work and depth perception.
  • Good hearing abilities for effective communication and safety awareness.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience in welding and grinding is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with forklift and crane operations is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and work orders is preferred.
  • Experience with measuring instruments is beneficial.
  • Basic math skills for calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Entry-level candidates may also be considered.
