Job Description

The Phlebotomy Specialist will be responsible for performing all duties related to specimen collection, including venipuncture, capillary collection, urine drug screen collection, skin tests, and blood, throat, and NP cultures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively with customers, patients, family members, nurses, physicians, clients, and co-workers.

The Phlebotomy Specialist will also be responsible for operating the laboratory computer system to document specimen information, patient registration, order entry, collection lists, and other assigned tasks. Additionally, they will perform other related duties as assigned, such as stand-by/on-call, inventory, special projects, cross-training, etc.

Requirements
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Certification from National Accredited Program Preferred
  • Familiar with medical terminology; computer data entry; organizational skills
