The Registered Nurse in the 5West MedSurg Unit is a vital member of our healthcare team, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a newly established 15-bed unit designed for MedSurg overflow. With a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5 to 1, our unit is equipped with a unit secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to support nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Oversee and coordinate patient education and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards.
- Provide both direct and indirect care to patients, adapting to their individual needs.
Work Schedule:
This position offers a flexible schedule with various tiers of work commitment:
- Tier 1: Base rate based on experience for 3 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 2: $40/hr for 6 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 3: $45/hr for 12 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 4: $50/hr for 18 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
Additional shift differentials apply for night and weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills:
- Graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
B. Experience:
- Preferred: 1 year of RN experience in an acute hospital setting.
C. Licenses and Certifications:
- Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association within two weeks of employment.
Work Type:
Per Diem As Needed
