Microsoft Systems Architect
who possesses extensive knowledge in operating systems and server infrastructure to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The DES initiative supports a critical mission and necessitates the involvement of top-tier technical and managerial talent to transition common IT services for multiple DoD agencies onto a unified platform.
Your role will be pivotal in executing discovery, design, and migration tasks essential for establishing a premier Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense.
This position will oversee storage engineering to facilitate the discovery analysis and design efforts required for the migration of shared IT services from numerous large-scale DoD agencies into a consolidated network.
Leidos seeks the finest talent in the industry to meet the vastness, scope, and intricacy of this undertaking. A successful candidate will be technically proficient, delivering high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct initial discovery efforts, establishing data collection requirements based on inputs necessary for developing a successful migration strategy.
- Employ advanced data analysis methodologies and benchmarks to outline the future state migration plan and the pre-migration activities required to bridge gaps.
- Anticipate backend infrastructure needs arising from the migration of multiple agencies into a unified architecture.
- Design solutions, integrate, configure, test, and deploy various types of storage and data protection technologies from leading providers.
- Enhance end-to-end system performance and migration workflows.
- Perform data captures to gather computing performance and system configuration details.
- Formulate migration strategies that expedite execution while minimizing disruption to the user community.
- Establish migration plans for complex multi-tier applications and services.
- Collect necessary data to project long-term capacity and performance needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Expertise with enterprise-class storage and data protection technologies, including storage and backup arrays, SAN switches, backup software, and storage replication technologies.
DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or equivalent is mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in consulting firms.
- Strong understanding of networking, servers, cybersecurity, and data center operations.
- Experience with Cloud Migration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
- Experience with Microsoft Intune – Endpoint Management & Software Distribution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Active Directory Administration expertise.
- Enterprise-level migration experience.
- Operating system deployment experience.
- Development of engineering and implementation plans.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,000 - $220,900.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), or other legal considerations.
