Job Description

Takeda Pharmaceutical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Strategy and Operations leader to join our team. As a key member of our Research Strategy & Operations Leadership Team, you will be responsible for integrating scientific acumen with business analytics and processes to deliver clear business plans, operational excellence, and portfolio progression for the Takeda Research pipeline.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. You will lead a team of internal consultants to advise the Research Senior Leadership on complex challenges and strategic initiatives, and provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on critical business decisions, including portfolio management, resource allocation, and investment strategies.

Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing research strategies that are aligned with the organization's long-term goals and objectives, conducting comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, assessing the competitive landscape, and pinpointing potential opportunities for research to inform strategic decision-making. You will also monitor external landscape to identify and evaluate new research opportunities, technologies, and partnerships to drive innovation and enhance the company's competitive advantage.

As a strategic partner, you will build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders such as research institutions, universities, and industry experts to foster collaboration, leverage external expertise, access funding opportunities, and enhance the organization's research capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research priorities, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the timely execution of projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in research strategy development and/or internal consulting within the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in competitive portfolio landscapes in Takeda therapeutic areas. You will also have excellent project management and organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a strong knowledge of drug discovery and development processes, including preclinical and clinical research.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $205,000 to $322,300, and a comprehensive benefits program that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits.
