Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Double E Company. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming Haas CNC Lathes to produce high-quality metal pieces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure dimensions of finished pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
  • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Stop machines to remove finished pieces or to change tooling, setup, piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
  • Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links.
  • Check to ensure that pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
  • Set up and operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machining functions on metal pieces.
  • Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
  • Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
  • Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
  • Ability to program on the machine and or edit existing similar programs.
  • Knowledge in MasterCam is a plus but not required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to work shift from 6:00am-2:30pm, overtime may be available at times.
  • Requires average math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Must be physically able to handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to consistently stand for an entire 8-hour shift.
  • Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is a plus, as is general mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
