Forklift Mechanic Job Description

Honor Foods is seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our fleet of forklifts to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on forklifts, including inspecting, lubricating, and adjusting components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on forklifts in a timely manner.
  • Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts to identify any potential problems or safety concerns.
  • Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts and components as needed.
  • Testing: Test forklifts after repairs to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on each forklift.
  • Installation and Setup: Assist with the installation and setup of new forklifts as needed.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding maintenance schedules, repair timelines, and parts orders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in forklift technology.
Requirements:
  • Education: Industrial equipment mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of forklift systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Certification: Forklift certification and/or relevant technical training preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate to heavy objects, and work in a noisy warehouse environment.
