Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Chief Legal Officer and with minimal oversight, the Staff Attorney will engage in a variety of legal functions essential to the operations of HumanGood. This role involves collaborating closely with senior legal personnel to provide comprehensive legal support, including but not limited to contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, leases, and corporate governance materials, while ensuring adherence to established legal standards.
  • Manage and oversee contracts with residents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws across various jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's advocacy strategy, monitoring legislative changes and managing advocacy initiatives.
  • Review and negotiate vendor agreements across the organization, covering areas such as healthcare services, technology, and consulting.
  • Support the organization’s risk management and compliance efforts by creating training materials and standards.
  • Interpret and apply laws and regulations to various business operations and provide guidance on legal rights and obligations.
  • Address inquiries related to operational procedures, human resources, and corporate governance.
  • Advise senior management on legislative matters and potential impacts on the organization.
  • Assist in major business transactions, including due diligence and legal research.
  • Gather and analyze information to support management decision-making.
  • Provide innovative and practical solutions to complex legal challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate, finance, or healthcare law.
  • Must reside in a state where HumanGood operates.
